Field trips
School field trips offer students unique, hands-on learning opportunities beyond the classroom, sparking curiosity and broadening their horizons through direct experience. These outings are carefully selected to complement the curriculum while encouraging social/emotional and intellectual growth for students of all ages. Field trips help connect classroom lessons to real world settings allowing students to observe, question and explore subjects in meaningful ways. Whether visiting a museum, science centre, zoo or even participating in a virtual tour, field trips cultivate engagement and provide memories that last a lifetime.
Extracurricular activities
Beyond the classroom, extracurricular activities play a vital role in students' overall development. Participation in sports clubs, arts, music and other programs at lunchtime or after school, help students build critical social skills such as teamwork, leadership and communication. These activities foster self-confidence, time management and discipline while encouraging students to explore interests and passions beyond academics.

& Special Judaic Ceremonies
At Hebrew Foundation School, our Chagigot and special Judaic ceremonies are meaningful milestones in a child’s Jewish and educational journey. These celebrations allow students to experience Jewish learning in a joyful, personal, and engaging way, helping them form lasting emotional and spiritual connections to our traditions.
As students prepare for these moments, excitement builds and confidence grows. Chagigot nurture pride and a strong sense of belonging, while giving students the opportunity to showcase their learning and discover new strengths.
Families come together to celebrate growth, achievement, and Jewish identity, creating memories that are cherished by students, parents, and teachers alike.
Dramatic Arts
& School-Wide Performances
Our dramatic arts program brings students together through creativity, collaboration, and performance, fostering a genuine love of working with words, storytelling, and song in the French language. Through grade-level productions such as Fables d’Ésope, spectacles de clowns, and théâtre du masque neutre, students develop confidence while deepening their connection to French in meaningful and expressive ways.
This year, we are proud to introduce a new extracurricular highlight: our first-ever school-wide Musical. This exciting initiative unites students across grade levels, celebrating teamwork, creativity, and the joy of performing together in French.
Together, our Judaic ceremonies and dramatic arts experiences reflect the heart of HFS — where identity is celebrated, learning is meaningful, and every child is encouraged to grow with confidence and joy.
Projects (Enrichment)
At HFS, we recognize that some students thrive when given opportunities to go further. Our enrichment programs are designed to challenge and inspire learners who are ready to explore beyond the standard curriculum.
Through special projects tailored to each student’s level, interests, and areas of strength, learners are encouraged to think critically, ask deeper questions, and pursue topics that spark their curiosity.
Enrichment takes place both inside and outside the classroom — from differentiated instruction during lessons to participation in our free lunchtime Coding and Chess Clubs, where students continue to grow their problem-solving and strategic thinking skills in engaging, hands-on ways.
Student Council
At HFS, we believe in empowering our students to become active, responsible, and compassionate leaders. From an early age, students learn about the democratic process — creating campaign videos, writing bilingual speeches, and presenting their ideas to peers — all in the hopes of earning the title of Class President.
Leadership doesn’t stop there. In Grade 6, every student plays an important role in shaping school life by participating in one of several committees, such as the Spirit Committee, Arts & Crafts Committee, Technology Committee, Last Day of School Committee, or Mentorship Committee.
Through these authentic leadership experiences, students learn to collaborate, problem-solve, and make meaningful contributions to their community — skills that will serve them far beyond their years at HFS.
Parents Association
At the heart of the HFS community are the many parents who generously volunteer their time and energy to make our school an even more vibrant and enriching place for our students. Through the HFS Parents’ Association (PA), parents play an active role in enhancing school life — supporting meaningful initiatives, elevating holiday celebrations, and creating opportunities that directly enrich the student experience.

Each year, the PA sets thoughtful priorities focused on student growth and engagement. Last year, their efforts helped bring our new HFS Language Lab to life (launching soon!), and this year, they are proudly supporting the transformation of our school library — a dynamic space designed to inspire creativity, curiosity, and a lifelong love of reading.

The PA is also a place where friendships grow and school spirit shines. Together, our parent volunteers bring warmth, creativity, and dedication to every initiative, truly embodying what it means to be part of the HFS family.
